Anybody know how accurate Noddle is? I've just registered with them, got 3/5 rating (no loans, credits, financial connections, etc. and 1 bank account). But it seemed extremely easy and quick compared to Experian that requires all sorts of additional data.
I'm going to register for electoral roll today, but it probably will be quite a while before I'm accepted (IF I'm even accepted).
Thanks for the help!0 -
Also, besides registering on electoral roll, how can I improve my chances for future?
I read and some of you advise to take out a Credit Card and keep paying it off every month. In this case, which credit card would you recommend, how much do I need to spend/borrow for it to have a POSITIVE impact on my credit score?
Any other tips how I can improve my chances?
I'm hoping to be able to take this loan then in September then.
Thank you!0 -
You can register on the electoral roll as a foreign national as long as you have leave to enter or remain in the UK. If you email the local council they can add you fairly rapidly to the register. I think you are then able to vote in local elections but not necessarily general elections.
The credit card as you mention is one of the best ways to improve credit rating.0 -

So for credit card, I can go for any? Is it OK to take out Lloyds TSB Credit Card, and spend the minimum amount?
I'm just wondering how much would I need to borrow off credit card for it to count as a "loan" and have an impact on my credit score.0 -
You can go for a credit card with Lloyds if they will approve you, alternatively Barclaycard also do a "soft" search and will give you an indication of approval before you apply.
Initially you are likely to be approved with a small limit ±£400, then I would spend approx half of that limit each month on the card and then be sure to settle in full each month.0 -
Just a quick question -- Can I apply for Barclays' Credit Card without having an account with them? Or do I have to open an account at Barclays first?0

for Barclaycard you don't need an account with them.
That was the 1st credit card I got and I never had an account with them, I had only been in the UK for just over 2 years but I had been on the electoral roll from the 1st day I arrived...0
