Hi, do any of the music download services pay corporation tax? i see even sainsburys are based off shore.
I'm happy to pay a little more if the service has a reputation for honesty, rather than the screw everyone else corporate monoliths of amazon and apple.
Or am i misguided to think this sort of thing exists? And should I just accept the Thatcherite dream of a rampant out of control free market where the little, honest guy gets stamped on?

Check your facts - both Tesco & Sainsburys are UK companies who do pay taxes here - several hundred million pounds each0

[ahem]
Tesco corporate tax structure outlined on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesco#Corporate_tax_structure
More damning is UK Uncut's view:
http://www.ukuncut.org.uk/targets/2Goals: Mortgage Free: Dec 2012 - complete (13y 8m early)
Save £100K by age 50: (£20k pa Jan/2013-Jan/2018) - progress: Aug 2014: £34k
Pension: £250k by 2018 - progress: Aug 2014 £180k
Charitable Giving: 2014 so far: £4000
Crowd Funding Contributions: 2014 so far: £26300 -
They may have a complicated structure but nonetheless they do still pay several hundred million pounds each per year in UK corporation tax0
