hello ive been in my job now around 7months. And i love it. Its nearly double my old salary and i work less days than i used to. But i have a really big problem and the only way i can see of getting out of it is by quitting, or keeping my mouth shut for a few more years until they retire. keeping my mouth shut seems the better option but im afraid i might do something i regret one day if i keep it bottled up. the problem is this my fellow work colleague got me the job i didnt really no the guy, but believe me i do now. the man is a complete "£^&^*&* he looks down on everybody and everybody else is the problem according to him. he rings me constantly and twists words that ive said. and he rings me with his twisted versions of events that blaitenly didnt happen the way he says. we can choose which days we work sometimes so i never tell him anymore if i had plans. because we would always be mysteriously at work on them days. i think my colleague may have some issues but i cant obviously just come out and say this. i feel like i have no other option but than to quit as my job requires alot of travelling so i am in a vehicle for long periods of time with this person which means if i say something in retaliation it could make things alot worse. i am greatfull for him getting me the job but if i had known what he was like i would of never of took the job. the list is never ending with petty little things. any ideas? thankyou

A very clever old man once told me that you should never quit a job because you hate an a$$hole who works there, as there will be another different sort of a$$hole in your next job.
Having had several jobs in my life I can testify that there has been an a$$hole in each one.
Please excuse my language.:p0 -

There's your answer. Find another job like your old one and be content but poorer.hughjass87 wrote: »i am greatfull for him getting me the job but if i had known what he was like i would of never of took the job.

Or maybe not content, not as happy and poorer. With a different, but equally annoying a$$hole as a colleague. Why take the risk?! The OP "loves" this job.0 -
Some people do have mental problems that make them incapable of acting as normal social human beings. As you suspect he has issues can you treat him as if he does - as a special case with a different view on the world and not take anything he says to heart? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
