Presumably she informed the police, made a statement and got a crime reference number.
Was this just her locker that got done, or all the lockers?
It may be possible that the swimming pool has insurance for this kind of thing, but they may refuse.
Really, who takes a £1200 uninsured ring to the swimming pool?
And if it was just her locker that was forced, then it might be considered a inside job
Otherwise, your g/f have to wait and hope the police find the little scroat that took it and then she could take a civil action out against the criminal. But I doubt even if the cuplit is found, and even if she eventually wins any claim, the little scroat would not have the ability to repay.
Perhaps he might offer to repay at say 1p per month?0 -
you cant do the section 75 claim, this is for things such as ie. the company went bust and you never received it, order was lost in post or it broke. she took delivery of it and it was fit for purpose. she needs to tell police for a start.
you know living in rented accommodation doesn't mean you dont need contents insurance. contents insurance are for things like this or damage to your possessions.0
