Ive noticed a cloud like substance in olive oil recently that i buy in marks and sparks. About over a year ago i started to get stomach pain and was wondering what was causing it and then i happen to notice this cloud like substance in a bottle of olive oil i was using. I hadnt noticed it earier because it was a very dark coloured bottle, anyhow i stopped using that bottle of olive oil and the pain when away.
So from then ive always check the bottles to make sure theres none of that cloud like substance in it. I found over time that the odd bottle had the cloud like substance in it but most of the bottles had none, they had clear olive oil in them. However just recently ive found that all the bottles have this cloud like substance in them
Does anyone know what this cloud like substance is?

Perfectly okay - just means it is cold

We noticed our (nearly empty!) bottle had gone cloudy a couple days ago, but guessed it was the cold. Thanks for confirmingWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

Olive oil can be temperamental and keeps best if it is not too hot/cold or exposed to light or too much air. The link below will give you some tips about how to keep it fresh and at its best.

I find this happens with a number of unrefined or cold pressed oils particularly extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, neem oil etc. The olive oils I've seen do this seem to solidify in a honey comb looking formation.0

Don't worry about colour. Good oils come in all shades, from green to gold to pale straw – but avoid flavours such as mouldy, cooked, greasy, meaty, metallic, and cardboard.
Try to buy oils only from this year's harvest – look for bottles with a date of harvest. Failing that, look at the "best by" date which should be two years after an oil was bottled.0 -

The colour doesnt bother me and the only reason im bothered by the cloudy stuff is cause i started to get stomach pains from it
COld oil will not give you stomach pains any more than warm olive oil.
Some bottles may cloud more readily than other bottles as its a natural product. If your cupboard was a few degree colder they all would be cloudy. If a little warmer then none will be clody.
Put some olive in your fridge and look at in a day or two.0 -
Olive oil goes solid in the fridge.0
