'Experience' gift voucher problem

I've received an all day 'rally car' experience voucher and on phoning to find out more it is only held on a weekend and apparently you share the car with 4 other people!

The person who purchased it didn't realise this, there is nothing on their website stating these details.

I teach on a saturday, and sundays aren't ideal for our family circumstances, but no weekday events are held. Plus it's touted as a one-to-one driving experience, not with a bunch of other people.

There website says 'no refunds', is there anything we can do?

Don't think i can offer any really help but just wanted to say how horrible that someone has bought you something that they have spent a lot of money on and it is turning into this situation.

Seams very very unfair to you and them. That said i am sure that the rules of distance and online selling must be able to help in some way. Also the card that was used to pay?

Really gutted for you. I bought my OH something very similar ( race day) and it was amazing !

Can you change it for a different kind of experience?

Distance selling won't apply to this because it's a 'service' not a physical item.

It it transferable, could you sell it on ebay? Or give it to a family member who could use it?

I went on one, in Lincolshire, and although it was a group event, there were two groups of four but when we first drove the rally car it was only me and the instructor in the car, then we all took turns driving two different cars alone, so although it was a group event you drove by yourself. Might this be similar?
