hi me and the wife are wondering when we move into rented prior to our BR how does it work with gas and electric as one of our creditors will be EDF at current property and they will be in the BR so will we still be able to get gas and electric and the rented house and if so how pay meter ect would rather be on bill or dd

I was in exactly the same position as yourself last year.
We left our mortgaged home (being repossessed) to move in to a rented property.
When you move into the new property, whichever provider currently provides the gas & electricity to your new property, legally has to offer you a contract - the letting agent will sort this with you on hand over day.
We were with EDF at our old house, and the outstanding debt went into the BR plan. As EDF were the provider at the new property, they set up a new account with a £0 balance on day one.0 -
