what happens to mobile phone contracts under bancruptcy. Do you include them as creditors or can you choose whether to or not. I actually have a contract with orange and one with voda. can I include one with the bankruptcy and keep the other.

Keeping a contract mobile and paying the bill on time will improve your credit rating after BR albeit slowlyBR 18 Oct 2006 Discharged 16 April 2007 :T0

I didn't include my T-mobile contract because I didn't owe them any money, & I still have it. Your SOA must include all creditors, but if you don't owe your mobile phone company any money there's no obligation to put them on it. From what I've gathered from other people, it's harder to get a contract after going BR, so if your payments are up-to-date, I wouldn't include it.
If you have two contracts & one can be terminated without penalty, I'd terminate that one if you're behind with the payments & put it on the SOA, & then keep the up-to-date one & not include it. The OR is likely to ask why you've got two mobile phone contracts, so you could lose one of them anyway.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Yes, I kept mine too, as I suspected it would be nigh on impossible to get one after BR. As Remmer says, it also helps to build a credit rating over time.BCSC Member 70:j

OH included his in his BR but he owed Orange money and we knew that we'd struggle to pay the monthly payments for the next 9 months that we were tied in.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

Hiya Bakey;
Its definitely a different story if you owe them ; I think you're obligated to put them down as a creditor then.BCSC Member 70:j
