Hi Tay - just been having a little catch-up on your progress (instead of working on my OU assignment!;)) and it's wonderful to see you go from strength to strength! :D

Had to LOL at this, has he been reading the "Divorce for Dummies" books or something? Either that or he's being goaded by his mates down the pub ;). Nobody uses language like that unless they've been told to, carry on ignoring him, he hasn't got a leg to stand on.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks, Hezzawithkids :D You just made me laugh out loud!

Im excellent thank you. No need to apologise, Im back teaching classes, after a palaver with my last hall that was quite expensive and they cut down my banners that had been up a long time, so Ive found a cheaper hall, literally a minutes walk from my home. I live in a poor area and it can be quite anti social at times and I always resisted teaching here but so far so good.

Ive also lost two stones since May and I could do with losing at least another one, but Im happy with that.

Life is fine at the moment.

I dont count calories. I just cut my portion sizes. And to be honest, Ive never been a very unhealthy eater but I was probably eating portions for 2 or 3 people, easily.

I cut out junk, I am very much an all or nothing person, I dont really do moderation well. Basically just banned junk food from my house. That doesnt mean I never go out and eat, I do, at least once a week and sometimes its not that healthy either, but I dont buy junk food.

Ive said before, life was tough the last few years and even though at times Ive exercised a lot, Ive also gone to bed with 3 packs of crisps a night. ridiculous.

What did it for me, was seeing a video of me, I was doing my childrens fitness assessment and the audio wasnt good, I did it at my mums school, its open plan and the acoustics are awful so i had to watch it back (I passed btw). I had a black T shirt on and black leggings, I was just hiding.

The day I saw that, that was it, something had to change.

I also do a lot of exercise now, I do 3 HIIT classes a week, either metafit or les mills grit and I lift weights 4 times a week. Its really not been that bad. My brother is a PT and he also works at one of the gyms I go to, so he helped me with my gym programme and he was excellent. He had me deadlifting 35kgs and Ive never lifted anything like that in my entire life and he works out 5 times a week and has done for years, he just doesnt have wobbly bits like me.

Its just the mind that thinks you want junk food when I actually dont.

I also cut down on alcohol, a lot, my new drink of choice is alcohol free becks and the very odd glass of perry with some orange juice in.

My weight has always been up down and up down. Ive had two broken bones over the last 6 years which hasnt helped, but I was doing myself no favours, every diet trap there is to fall into, Ive done it.

I think also, sometimes you can emotionally eat, sometimes you need to face whats wrong rather than just eat for the sake of it.

I dont weigh myself every day or every week either. And thank you.

I also got rid of the white stuff, white rice, pasta. According to my bro even the wholemeal stuff isnt that good for you, sweet potatoes are my new friend, oatcakes also. Just stuff that fills you up and is good for you.

Just breaking bad habits really, its been ok.

Wow, well done Pauline. :T You've made some huge changes. I agree, all or nothing can be hard at first but sometimes it's the only way.

Diet combined with exercise - it's not rocket science, but it can be hard to find the motivation! I'm a fairly emotional eater - any extreme emotion (happiness, sadness, stress) makes me lose my appetite. When I'm on an even keel, I eat like a horse! :D I'm fairly stable at around 10st at the moment, but I look and feel better at 9st.

I must say, my appetite has decreased somewhat this week, must be excitement. :j I'm trying to think of what to wear on Sunday, a trying-on-half-the-wardrobe session might be in order!! :o

I'm starting to panic slightly about Sunday. It's been such a LONG time since I went on a first date. :o I'm completely out of practice and clueless. (I'm really looking forward to it, don't get me wrong - just a little nervous!)

And I'm thinking about when The Subject comes up. I'm going to have to mention it, but not quite sure how to go about it. I don't want to tell him all the details just yet, but I suppose I'd better get it out of the way!

How do other recently separated/divorced people go about broaching the subject to a new potential date? How did they take it?

Any tips or advice gratefully appreciated :D
