Capital Allowances for Self Employed

Just wanted to clarify on capital allowances. Cars > 160g C02 emissions, previously claimed at 10% have now reduced to 8% in 2012-13? Cars < 160g C02 emissions, previouslyclaimed at 20% have no reduced to 18%? I’m aware of the hybrid allowance if the year end is other than 5.4.13.

From 2013-14 the maximum C02 allowance drops from 160g to 130g? So, if we are claiming for a carwith 140g C02 in 2012-13 (currently 18%), then this will drop down to 8% in2013-14? Or do existing cars keep the rate they were on and the new lower rates of 130g only applies to cars bought during 2013-14 onward?

Cars bought prior to April 2009 get 18% allowance in2012-13 (previously 20%)? I assume that because they were bought prior to April 2009, then they aren’t subject to emission rules so we continue to claim as above. Also that the maximum claim for car bought prior to April 2009 in 2012-13 computation would be capped at £3000.00?

100% AIA still available on commercial vehicles for 2012-13, such as vans?

Thanks
