Stay at home dad and NIC's

Just a quick question (I hope),
I am about to be a stay at home dad for at list the next two years, after working consistently for 13 years (worked in the US before), I have over 27 years before the official retirement age .
I understand that the new Universal tax system will cover the Nic's for my years at home, but will be active only in couple of years.
Do I still need to pay the voluntary nic's of £13.75/week to avoid gaps in National insurance or will it be covered by the new system?

If you have the child benefit paid to you then you will get the NIC credited. Any more years when you are not in receipt of child benefit or certain other benefits you will need to pay voluntary contributions.0

Just be sure those child benefit payments are in your name or you won't get NIC credits.0

And be sure that the child is aged under 12! http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ni/intro/credits.htm0
