Help with self assessment and JSA

in Cutting tax
If a couple receives JSA for a couple of weeks as a couple where only one person has to find work due to children, what gets put on a self-assessment tax form? Say person A is the one who signs as the main claimant, and gets paid, but the self-assessment is filed for person B's business? Not sure if te entire JSA income is classed as Person A's, person B's, both, or half each.
So if total payment was 1k, is it classed as £1k benefits for A only, £1k each, or £500 each?

The JSA is paid to one claimant, the person who made the claim and who signs on.
In your scenario it would belong to person A only = £1000.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
