Waiting to hear how much to pay- long process

Made bankrupt November 2012.
Personal interview with OR beginning January 2013. Creditors received letter 24 January stating reasons and no meeting of creditors called. ( one of the creditors told me this)
I filled all forms and details with OR early January 2013 including all expenditure & earnings. I have heard nothing at all from OR since beginning of January. It is now April. Is this normal. I have no assets only monthly earnings.
I heard sometimes you never hear again from OR. Surely I couldn't be that lucky??

I would suggest ringing them. I found 99% of the people I spoke to very helpful, the only bad experience was with a very judgmental receptionist lady who spoke to me like i had just been scraped of her shoe.
I also had no assets, except for a car worth £800 (according to webuyanycar.com). With the expedniture / earnings I did with the OR it worked out I also payed nothing and I was eligible for early discharge (unfortunately the people you owe money to don't often class the paperwork to get an early discharge very important so my BR lasted the full year).
Give them a call, square it away, one less thing to worry about0 -
I have a small surplus left from my wages which I showed in January and I am surprised they haven't wanted me to start paying this?0

My car insurance was up for renewal at the tine of my OR expenditure. Instead of going for the cheapest deal I went for a more expensive one that had no excess, key cover, breakdown cover etc. etc.
This meant that on my expenditure, instead of the £250 a year i pay now i was paying £500 a year.
I did this for two reasons.
1. its better to pay more for a year then get tied on to a three to six year repayment plan
2. if i still went in to a payment plan i wouldn't of been able to afford the excess, key replacement etc.0 -
OP, it can take a while for the system to work so you may still hear from the OR office but it may be that any surplus you think you may have does not exist or is negligable as the OR deems some of your amounts to be low. I would sit tight and see what happens."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0

Ok, maybe I thought they would be faster and all over me like a rash. ( after the pre bankrupt letters & calls you get to expect hassle)
I was hoping someone could tell me how quickly after OR meeting they started to pay back on a 36 month scheme. The quicker I start the quicker it will be over!
But I equally don't want to beg them to take any surplus. I will sit quietly and watch my post box.
One of my creditors is my ex wife ( no kids) & wondered if she was stirring things with OR to make things as difficult as possible for me.
The uncertainty is worrying.0 -
Its up to you and your priorities.
If its stressing you out then ring them. it does not go against you or look bad that your ringing to find out the situation, the OR can not be pressurized in to doing anything any quicker so ringing them will only give you the answers you need (should the OR have processed everything).
If you want to keep panicking and having it run through your mind then sit tight!
As i said I never had to make any payments but i did get a letter back within a week or two im sure.
Im not even sure if with the minimal surplus you have they would bother to take it anyway0 -
IPAs are a nightmare in my opinion - I went BR last May, but they didnt sort out my IPA until September  I have now had it reduced down to Nil, but they want to review that every 3 months which is ridiculous and wastes everyones time :mad:0
