Hi
I was in Asda yesterday and I bought Porky Whites Surrey Pork Sausages at £1.00 per pack of 6. They are 82% pork (shoulder and belly). They also did packs of 12 Chipolatas at £1.00. These weren't stickered reductions they were just on offer but I couldn't see from SEL how long for. I can't locate them online to post a link so don't know if its all stores.

Well, you only have to look at the back of the pack for the ingredients in order to decide, these are 82% pork which is pretty high and what you'd expect from a quality sausage
I have seen some threads/posts recommending various online meat suppliers and when I have looked at them and in particular their "home made" sausages, the meat content was only 62% which is less than asda or tesco standard "butchers choice" type which are typically around 72%.
I had these today in a Hairy Bikers sausage and beer casserole and they were lovely - I'm going to go back to Asda tomorrow to stock up on a few more packs.0 -

Only sausages I buy in our house, lovely chipolata. I buy for £2 a pack at Asda, they rarely go lower than that. Now they are £2.75 from this week. Sometimes find them for £1.59 but its quite rare. Always stocked at Asda and Tesco (2.59? in Tesco). Got some in my basket now online, not at £1 though :-(The Year Of DreamsBig Love To All Comp Sharers

It was the other ingredients I was more concerned with not the pork content and as I was in the shop at the time I din't have time to google them all to see if they were safe imo or not. I don't 'do' additives.
