    A google image search shows that it's clearly a beautiful ceiling made of sweeping curves of small wooden beams

    If that's not what you get when you view the property then I think you should do them under property misdescriptions act :D

    Although seriously, I'd imagine it to mean there's a beam, and it's painted black. Although the photos don't seem to show that.

    Tell them you have googled it and it means a sloping ceiling with loads of dangerous asbestos in so you now have severe doubts. Watch them go an interesting colour as they probably just wrote the phrase to make the property more noticeable.
