Hi, I am in the process of remortgaging with first direct, I emailed them and asked for an update, They told me they have a valid offer document and valuation, However they have been in touch with their security processing centre to ask if a LEGAL CHARGE FORM has been issued, Could someone explain what a legal charge form is???
Many thanks.

A legal charge form is the mortgage deed that you will enter into with the lender.
In essense, it's the legal contract between you and the lender.

Thanks Joe, So am I right in saying this is not something that is going to cost me money? I just looked on First Directs website and they pay the legal fees, or is this a different thing all together. So going from your reply its just a legal contract and not land registry etc.

Mike, if it's free legals, you have nothing to pay or to worry about.
