I'm going to work in a minute with a hangover....not good!
Alcohol doesn't like me, i'm drunk after 3 or 4 drinks, it makes me lazy the next day, fat, miserable and full of regret.....
I have kids who spend half their time on the computer....we all need a good kick up the you know
Would love some suggestions of things to do as I'm really stuck in a rut....i feel i'm letting myself and my kids down.....help

I react to alcohol the same as you, so now I barely drink (one drink last Christmas, and nothing since then). Sounds like you need some healthy family activities and social gatherings - walks in the park? Cycling/games? Gardening/allotment? Friends round for snacks + board games? My kids moan if i say we are going out for a walk but usually enjoy it when we do....otherwise they would if i let them, just sit on computer, xbox, ps3.....
I don't live with my boyfriend so when we go out it just tends to be for a few drinks....but even just a few makes me feel rotten but can't seem to stop....i do think i have a problem....i have managed to stop any midweek drinking as was getting bad...but i must have some issues as i just binge at the weekendNever put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -
You don't just "think" you have a problem, you know that you do. Otherwise why admit that although you can go through the week without drinking you binge at the weekend?
I think you need to find ways of going out somewhere with your boyfriend without it entailing being anywhere near alcoholic drinks. I also think that you're firmly wedged into a danger-zone, and if you don't get a grip soon you might not be able to.
Who's going to earn the wages and support your kids then? You need a wake-up call, and quick.0 -

Voluntary work like green gym or dog walking for a charity, join a gym and attend classes so you meet new people, evening class at the local college, group based on an interest of your choice, community dance classes, community healthy cookery project, help an elderly person around the house, grow your own vegetables, sign up for a sponsored charity event and train for it, family health challenge with chart and rewards if you hit the targets and forfeits if you don't, all sign up to learn first aid, foster a cat and kittens, if you all have smartphones or compatible gadgets there are loads of health related apps or programmes the kids might engage with.
Speak to your boyfriend: don't go to the pub, don't suggest the pub, he should not suggest the pub and refuse to go with you if you suggest it.

The delicate one ... might you be clinically depressed? I don't necessarily mean really low and crying as in moderate to severe, depression can be mild and only affect you as lack of motivation, low energy, guilt or pessimism and so on. Some people do self medicate unconsciously with alcohol or drugs.
It really is very common over winter due to the sunlight, sedentary behaviour etc. It's more than possible to treat with physical activity (10,00 steps a day or equivalent) plus healthy eating (omega-3s, vitamin D, B group vitamins, amino acids, certain minerals all play different roles). Oily fish is a really important food group that many people fail to eat from which supplies several of these nutrients and is generally superb for physical wellbeing too. Unfortunately alcohol depletes the body of loads of nutrients. Do you know what all the other healthy eating guidelines are, and do you consistently meet or exceed them as a family?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Sorry to read that.
Are you being treated with talking therapies or prescribed medication? If not you might ask your GP for support. Research suggests nutrition and physical activity are just as effective as prescription anti depressants in mild to moderate clinical depression, if you can motivate yourself obviously which for some is where the ADs come in. Nutrition and physical activity are also very helpful in managing stress/ anxiety.
High luxe lightbox can also be used to prevent SAD but you need to start September time for best results. If mild getting outside for your 10,000 steps year round and looking up towards where the sun should be can be really beneficial. Bit late for this year, but you certainly could work on getting your levels of vitamin D, omega-3s, B vitamins and minerals up with diet modification now. Good for the whole family too, oily fish is essentially brain food but also beneficial for every cell and tissue in the body from the immune system to skin. :jDeclutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi luvvlyjubbly - I find baking is a good thing to do with my kids - it's fairly cheap and good to do when it's cold and dark outside. You and your children can take a sense of pride in creating something plus you all might learn something!0
