car tax -no registration certificate

Hi
my 18 year old daughter bought her first car, a Clio, last March...both my daughter and the the seller signed the V5C registration certificate and the seller said he would send it off to DVLA, my daughter took the 'new keepers' slip
the car was due for tax shortly afterwards and she was able to use the new keepers slip to tax the car.
after a year the car is again due for tax (in fact she can't drive it as the tax has run out)...she didn't receive the reminder and she realised that she hasn't received the registration certificate...can she use the new keepers slip again or is there a time limit?...seeing she is not technically a 'new' keeper after a year! All a bit of a mess
thanks

No - she needs to contact the DVLA as a matter of urgency, she may not be the RK! If the seller did not forward his copy to them, nothing has been done.0

The seller must:
complete section 6 of the V5C (‘new keeper or new name/new address details’)
sign the declaration in section 8 (you must do this too)
fill in section 10 (‘new keeper supplement’) and give it to you - this section is also known as the V5C/2
send the V5C to DVLA
DVLA aims to send out a new V5C to you within 2 to 4 weeks of getting the old V5C from the seller.
If you don’t get it within 4 weeks:
complete form V62 ‘Application for a registration certificate’
send it to DVLA with the V5C/2 given to you by the seller - if you don’t send in the V5C/2, you’ll have to pay a fee0 -
She may receive a penalty for failure to inform them, not over sure how they work it.Be happy...;)0

thanks for all your replies...she read that rs65...trouble is she read it too late!
I was just wondering when she taxed it last March, they scanned the barcode on the new owners slip, does that tell the post office that she is the keeper? I thought the answer would be she couldn't use the new keepers slip again...just needed confirmation...shes on the phone to them now as I type so we'll see0
