Please help me take legal Action against Barclays

I would like to take Barclays to court to force them to remove an inaccurate marker on my credit file.
I have had a loan with them since 2003. According to my credit file this was never registered. It was only registered as a backdated agreement to pay & a '6' added in November 2012. It defaulted 2006 & a default notice was issued in 2008. They previously said they never issued a default & are refusing to update my file correctly. Last week they promised to delete my file if I paid £1200 & now they have written to say they will not do this. They will mark my file as partially satisfied even though they have not registered a default? They are making up entries on my credit file. I have complained to the FSA & Barclays have said they will not uphold my complaint. All the details are on my other thread
(Barclays default issued 6 years late).
Even the advisor I spoke to said they should not have registered anything now as it dropped off in 2012 but she would not put this in writing.

I would go to the Financial Ombudsman Service first, because you can still go to court if the FOS doesn't uphold your complaint, but you can't go to the FOS if a court doesn't.

Seeing as Barclays has already said they're not going to uphold your complaint, you can go to the FOS immediately.

Plus you can't lose with the Ombudsman. The worst that can happen is that they'll not uphold your complaint, but you won't have to pay any fees. :)
    What will your verse be?

Google the 'all about debt forum' and post on the defaults board. They are experts on this kind of stuff.

thanks for your reply. I have already been to the FOS. Barclays have responded to say they will not uphold my complaint made to the FOS.

What did the FOS say though? The point of the FOS is to make a complaint when you're not happy with how a business dealt with your complaint, so the fact that Barclays won't hold up your complaint doesn't mean your complaint with the FOS is finished.

    Unless I'm misunderstanding something. :p

That often happens when they know they're in the wrong.

First rudeness, then refusal to uphold complaints, then finally you'll get a 'good will gesture' which is their way of trying to worm their way out of admitting fault.
