I sent the retraction letter almost 2 weeks ago and no word from the initial employer.

After all my worries it appears everyone was right. The employer just shrugged their shoulders and moved on to the next candidate.

Things couldn't of worked out better and I start my new job on the 1st of May.

Thanks for all the advice.
