Adoption Leave Confusion

Hi there,
I'm new to mse but wondered if anyone could help. I'm currently on adoption leave from my full time employment due back in August this year. I have seen a job which is 6 hours a week and will fit in perfectly as my statutory adoption pay finishes in May.
My question is, can I legally apply for this job as I am already employed? Also if my main employer couldn't accommodate my flexible working request & they asked me to leave could I gain extra financial support to 'top up' my salary?
Thanks

Eh?
Why would you not be able to legally apply for a job? How do you think people move jobs if they don't apply for jobs when they are already employed?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -

I think the issue is applying for and starting a new job while still on adoption leave (and possibly receiving pay for that leave) from the current employer.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

With regard to paying back any adoption leave I would imagine it would fall in with maternity leave - as in if you are having more than the statutory amount it can be reclaimed - this will be in your contract, but if just basic then you can (but starting a new job in that leave would end your pay)0
