Working in Norway this summer

Here is my situation: I am a 26 year old mature student in university in my second year. I have poor work experience, however I speak semi-fluent Norwegian.
This summer I will travel to Norway, stay with a friend in his apartment, and seek work. I hope to do 4 things:
a) gain work experience
b) gain more language skills
c) earn a little money
d) become more accustomed to Norway and the Norwegian way of life, as I hope to move there immediately after my degree
I am open to do virtually anything, whether it be potato picking, dishwashing, street sweeping, translation, or if I'm lucky, something relating to my degree (economics). I am also willing to settle ANYWHERE in Norway.
Is there anywhere I could seek more specific advice for finding work before I travel there? E.g. will UK Jobseekers' centres be any good?
I will travel there, regardless of whether I pre-arrange work or not. Will I be able to use Norwegian job/advice centres when I am there?
Any general advice?

Haven't you asked your friend in norway what the job situation is like over there? He/she may have better knowledge than anyone on here.0

Are you claiming JSA? I think I am right in saying you can claim it for a little while in another EEA country, maybe worth doing this till you find something?
*I think Norway is part of this agreement.
Edit: Sorry I know you are a student, but can you claim JSA in the summer months before you go then claim in Norway?Bad luck breeds bad luck.
Damn I'm doomed.0 -
