Brickbats for Australian Boomers. Gen Y Bedroom Blocked Again

Just wait till Generation Y are in political power. It's gonna be savage.
I agree. The younger generations will never forgive Gen Y for its selfishness, for presiding over the demise of the NHS, for allowing the underclass to develop, for damaging the environment with ever increasing car and aircraft pollution, for allowing the train to become the preserve of the wealthy, and for making the UK an isolated nation on the edge of the EU. Also for anything else that is wrong in the world.:)Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Like most countries, if you're prepared to buy in the grungier parts of the city you can buy young. One of the problems with Aus is their resistance to let people live in small houses and units (appartments/terraced houses).
The 98% mortgage is alive and kicking here plus you get a grant of $7,000 if you buy a second hand property.
It's a lot easier to live in a 'grungier' place when you're young, it's less intimidating when the grungy neighbours are the same age as you. All you can do is hope that the neighbourhood become 'up and coming' and you've gotten in on the ground floor.0
