Don't know if it has been mentioned on here before, but the BPA website is now showing an updated COP dated March 2013.
I haven't checked the differences between this and the previous one, but someone might.

Not seen it mentioned, thanks. Wonder what hurdles they have removed to make it easier for the scammers to be compliant...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Knowing your interests, I can't remember seeing this before, but may have missed it.
18.9 So that disabled motorists can decide whether they
want to use the site, there should be at least one sign
containing the terms and conditions for parking that can
be viewed without needing to leave the vehicle. Ideally
this sign should be close to any parking bays set aside for
disabled motorists.0 -
Hmmm...I don't recall that either.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just been looking at the CoP and something just occurred to me, well this is the BRITISH Parking Association right? But Northern Ireland is not British, so what right does this association even have there?
Come to think about it, who gave this organisation any say at all on what they think they can impose on drivers, where is the legislation that says their rules have any meaning ? And I don't mean pofa 2012 as they existed long before that. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

They are entirely self-appointed. However, successive governments have allowed them to gather credibility as the only "mouthpiece" for the parking business (as I have said many, many times I will NOT describe it as an industry. Industry implies a degree of honest and unique toil).
At the end of the day they are just a self-appointed old boys club - a trade protection society (of old) who have gathered around them other old boys clubs - like London Councils Ltd and POPLA. Always nice to have friends around you - none more so than when a director of London Councils (who "supply" the POPLA service to the BPA) sits on the board of which organisation?
You guessed it, the BPA.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
