AP on my Credit Record - misled by Barclays

Well, next month I can afford to close my Barclaycard. I imagine my current account will follow quickly afterwards. They are most unhelpful.

When I was unemployed and needed help, they simply added more charges to my account. The adviser said, "its to encourage you to pay!"

A truly terrible bank. It's obvious why they didn't need a bailout!

I will never bank with Barclays again. The only good thing with this whole experience is that I have learnt alot of lessons but it has been a 10 year fight & still going:eek:

They are doing the same to me and ignoring my letters. As mine is an old credit card (1997) my only recourse appears to be sticking 2 fingers up at them and refusing to pay a penny so I force a default. It will be 6 years from now until it falls off but I'm not prepared to let them dump all over my credit report forever.

They are just nasty people I'm afraid.

Have you complained to the FOS yet? Worth a call if you haven't and if they can help it will cost Barclays £500 for the fee to look at it. Free for you :)

Not yet, that is my next step as they have so far fobbed me off.

Well, I wrote a very strongly worded letter to Barclays CEO. Well I say that, I posted a similar thread on another forum and a guy helped me write one.

Long story short, they're now removing them.

If you're having the same problem, don't bother with Barclays frontline services; the fact that they have the word "service" in their name is a joke. Go for the jugular, write straight to the CEO!

Definitely the case to contact executive teams for all the banks. It is the only way to get anything done.
Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.

Thanks, I had thought of that but not done it yet. I think I will go there before the ICO as they seem a bit wet. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
