Has anyone any knowledge of this company? My DS has an interview with them Monday in Sheffield. He is a student looking for part time work. Not sure what this companies does or what the job is. Something to do with sales I think. Its a bit vague.

After looking at their website, it looks like one of those jobs that don't pay a wage. You are expected to go door-to-door getting people to sign up to things.

That's what I was thinking. he's just emailed them for more information. I'm not keen on him doing something like that even though he's getting desperate to find a job.

Has anyone on here worked for them?

Don't do it - The advert reads pretty much word for word the same as one I went for a couple of years ago (also in Sheffield) It's not marketing at all it's door to door selling with some chugging also thrown in. I managed to steer lcear after the first interview as my OH had been through the process before we got together and he told me what really happens.
You basically get two interviews, are made to feel like you're amazing, have great potential etc and then you have a "day out" with someone already working for the company where they tell you how great iti s and how much money you can earn.
They're very loathe to let you know that it's comission only and you can be working horrendous hours. Plus you have to cover your own transport costs if they send you somewhere slightly out of area (They wanted my OH to start off door to door pitching in Goole when he lived in Sheffield and didn't drive)
I know it's tempting when there's very little work out there but please steer clear as it's definately not what it's cracked up to be.

Hi, yesterday I was to an interviw to Johnsons Advanced. Practical, nobady told me what I have to do, it's all vague, and they told me that it will be a second appointment next day, asked me if I am available, and if I will be selected, I'll be called between 4 pm to 6 pm. I was selected for the second appoinment, but I don't know on what criteria I have been selected because I did not say much, he spoke all the time. Reading what you wrote, made me wonder if is worth going to the second appointment. So I didn't go, cause I think you're right. So thank you for the informations.

The criteria? - You turned up and are available.
