HELP - I have horrible cellulite: I drink lots of water, eat lots of veg and exercise regularly, but I can't seem to shift it!
Do those cellulite brushes work? Are there any other tips out there to help reduce it?

IME no, they don't work.
I have been all sorts of weights before and have had friends all sorts of weights before- when I say 'all sorts of weights' I have a long history of eating disorders and have friends and know of others in similar positions. Weights range from anorexic-drip-fed through to so obese that the person can just about walk.
Cellulite is in my experience not weight related, not size related, does tend to happen more to those who are outside of puberty and also to women more then men, but you can still have cellulite when you are sickingly skinny when your at deaths door. Brushing does not do anything, creams and gels are by far the biggest waste of money since they developed wobbly trainers to "drop the pounds" (all they do is make you walk at a funny angle to balance yourself which results mainly in back-pain!).
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you like the feeling of brushing your skin or want super-exfoliated skin on your thighs (seriously, your feet could do with this far more) don't waste your time or cash. Cellulite is genetic.0 -
Cellulite is made up of lots of things and yes genetics is one of them. Body brushing stimulates the skin if done regularly will be part of a regime that 'May' help a bit. However the most important contribution is your diet. You should an to eat 80% low intervention food. So as close to nature as possible. Lean protein's chicken turkey, fresh fish especially oily fish fresh fruit & veg and very little saturated fat & sugar!! Sugar is evil when it comes to how it makes your skin look n behave. Up your intake of fruit n veg with juicing or smoothies if you can and add things like avacado to your diet. This lifestyle with excercise , body brushing and water are what will change your cellulite. It is mostly diet related with a sedatory lifestyle. Although some people will have it- you never see sorts people with it!
Remove ALL crap from diet ( take away/crisps/fizzy pop / sweets/sugar/tea &coffee / ready meals/pre made crap)
Move your body regularly
Body brush & exfoliate regularly
This does work as I've done it and although I still have a little it's no where near as bad so it can be 'influenced' in some way if you like...

Thanks sweetcheeks. Lots of good advice! My only vice now is chocolate so i have a bite or two everyday
. I stick to dark chocolate and rarely have milk or white but I can't seem to give it up. Crazy as I gave up smoking earlier in the year using an electronic cigarette. Can you get electronic chocolates?:rotfl: 0 -
Kristen, I know the feeling! Gave up smoking 2 years ago but can't give up sugar, its ridiculous!

If you every find electronic, calorie free chocolate, please let me know!!
Going slightly off subject, has anyone tried those chocolate patches. Like nicotine patches but apparently stop your craving for chocolate. Never been brave enough to spend the money on them so would be interesting to know if they actually work (I suspect they don't
)
Going to try some of the tips on here to try and banish cellulite too, makes me mad :mad:Weight Loss3lb Lost32lb To Go:xmassmile 8 Week Christmas Cracker SW Challenge :xmassmile3lb/12lb0 -
I'm on peaks and troughs but when I return to sugar ( in a habitual way) I seriously notice a difference and not in a good way!! Everything in moderation I suppose although I don't always get it right either
lol

I found the cellulite brush to be quite successful. I think it does take a lot of dedication but I found doing it daily, then moisturising and after about a week it definitely looked better (mainly on my bum and tops of thighs!)
Would love to invent electronic chocolate![STRIKE]7lbs to lose [/STRIKE]
2lbs to lose! :j

I am interested in all your thoughts as I have been asking myself the same question and have been doing a bit of research online too.
I have recently bought a brush so I will see how it goes.0 -

I dry body brush and whilst it doesn't cure cellulite it does make skin much softer and smoother plus has the added bonus of waking me up in the morning
