No worries. I was on this thread looking for advise myself but obviously clicked on your thread and thought maybe I could help you through our recent experience. I wish our dentist had given us just a little bit of hope. I hope your friend has the best possible outcome and hopefully my ds too
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

You did help, so thanks again. Dentists (and doctors) have a tough job - I guess your dentist didn't want to give you FALSE hope, because then they're the bad guy when it doesn't work out. It can't be easy to give that bad news out, but it's harder to be on the receiving end of it I'm sure. Fingers crossed all round!

    Hi
Just an update for anyone in the same boat. Ds still has his tooth 12 days on from the trauma. Dentist we saw Friday was much more positive and although its still splinted I think it is less wobbly and hopefully that means its healing. We go back tommorow so fingers crossed !

13 days on from trauma and splint was taken off today. Tooth does not appear to be wobbly :j and we have a return dentist appointment in 2 months. Just advised to go steady with the tooth for now.
Hope this helps someone else who may be looking for help with this like I was x

    That's great news CJJ!!:T

My friend had her splints removed after 8 days, been taking it easy too but all looks promising. She's going back in a month. Has resigned herself that she may possibly have some trouble in the future but not the despairing outlook she once had. She just about had herself with full dentures!! :p

Me too. On the plus side the root canal was painless. Hope your friend is ok x

She's okay physically, teeth hanging in there. A few unexpected issues mentally and damn all support from her managers but she'll survive that.
