Stopping damage to stored clothes?

I've just bought some suit bags (only the cheap ones from Wilkos) as I've noticed my "good" jacket & OH's suit are both getting dusty where they are hanging as they don't get worn very often (funerals and "posh" do's  ). At the moment they're just hanging on a rail in our room so bags are a BIG improvement :o
Now my question is should I put anything inside the bags to keep the clothes fresh/damp/anything else free?

I use those vacuum bags you can get from woolworths / wilkos. they squash cloths so they will need an iron when they come out, but keep out damp, dust, creatures, everything! I'm storing a lot of stuff in them at the moemnt because of moving house, and can even store clothes in the garage because they keep the elements out. Clothes stay nice and fresh smelling in them too0

I just cover our suits with bags and keep them hanging in the wardrobe and they have been fine just like that.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0

I tend to put the perfume strips from mags into my drawers ( the chest of drawers that is) maybe you could stick one in the bottom of each suit bag. I,ve also just dicovered the joys of these vacum bags, the ones you suck the air out of with the hoover, great for saving space and keeping the bedding fresh that you dont use too often:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

I have some of those vacuum bags and I store DDs cuddly toys in them and spare bedding
I bought these bog-standard ones as I don't fancy having to iron a suit jacket with shoulderpads - especially as it's handmade  (It's okay, it was a freebie from a family friend:money:, just need to get it adjusted properly to fit OH, I'm seriously tempted to take it to a professional to get that done:o ) and the idea is I won't need to iron them when we next have to use them as I haven't worn mine for a good 18 months (it was too warm to wear it last time I needed to be that smart) Plus OH has never even worn the suit
I like the idea of perfume strips from magazines...only trouble is I don't buy them :rotfl: Would tumble drier sheets work?Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Drier sheets might mark some items, especially the likes of silk etc. I do lay them in the bottom of the wardrobe where they aren't touching anything, or even just a flannel with some essential oils on but they aren't touching the clothes.
What about lavendar bags ? Or those bags I think it was comfort or was it lenor used to do may still do, to hang in wardrobe, have used them with clothes in a suitcase before.
Something to keep the moths away and a plastic cover is all I use on suits etc, think I got the last pack of 2 suit bags in £ shop.
Those little damp traps (another one I get 2 pack from £ shop) might help if concerned over damp getting to them, no harm in putting them in the bottom of the wardrobeOne day I might be more organised...........

I wonder if those wee sillicone bags you get in new handbags/shoes would keep the damp off clothes, is that what they are for? I think it is but I,m not awful sure:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
