Newcastle Building Society - how long to get offer?.

Does anyone know how long do Newcastle Building Society take to get a survey done and then how long would the mortgage offer take after that as I'm losing the will to live with my buyers as I'm buying a repo so on short timescale?
Just seems to be an eternity that all the paperwork was completed a couple of weeks back and no further progress, yet my mortgage offer with Abbey was like less than 5 days from application.

Your best asking them how long it takes to turn the information around and come back to you. They will have a more accurate answer than anyone on here.

Turn around times can change every few days with lenders depending on how much they have on their plate, so what was right last week could be totally out now.

I submitted my mortgage application with Newcastle Building Society on the 16th Feb and got my mortgage offer on the 28th March. From what I've heard this is fairly typical for them at the moment.
    Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
    Overpayments to date £410
    Current mortgage balance £70,650

I take it that there is no way to get it fast tracked then?

Didn't you ask any questions before submitting your application?

Unfortunately these are our buyers lenders and at present should I really have to be cajoling the estate agent to ask the in house mortgage advisor who did the application to be chasing it, which is what I am having to do.

Robedha1...what were the timelines from application to survey, to offer?

I can confirm similar to Robedha. We had offer accepted 15th Feb, sent off mortgage forms on 20th Feb. Surveys completed 18th March, we received Homebuyer's report on 21st March. Newcastle have informed us that the mortgage application process is now complete and has been sent to the under-writes for approval.

Hopefully it now goes through smoothly!!
