Red Bull Air Race Presale

Following on from last years fiasco, several hours in a car jam and an hour in a cold windy field to see bugga all, presale tickets are now available for this years UK event in London weekend July 28th and 29th. They go on general sale later this week...

However I wont be going as for seats for me and the kids (2ad+4ch) it adds up to around £325.20 for just one of the two days, compared with (i think) £30 last year all in
So yep, another farce on the horizon from red bull!

That's a stupid price, peeps want a good (family) day out but can't afford daft money. I'll keep on buying the shops own brand 'red bull' type drink with out any guilt!!Kat :money:0

Oh my god! Well I give up then. We tried for tickets the year before last but couldn't get any. We went last year when it didn't happen, (kids were gutted. We'd even booked our holiday round it) now this year we can't afford the ticket prices. We just weren't meant to go I don't think...'Still dealing with my debt, but I'll get there. Keep smiling.'

Yep, I agree - it's too pricey.
We tried last year - total fiasco - I wrote to the MD of Red Bull UK complaining that Longleat was a terrible choice of venue, having nothing but poor road links.
Any idea where the race is in London? - pretty sure I'll be able to see the planes from a nearby vantage point especially if it's over the Thames.0 -
Ah - I'm dumb - the tickets are for the Dome/Peruvian Wharf - it must be there!0

Yep we sat through the mountains of traffic to not actually have made it to the event when eventually they cancelled it!!
It's sad to see that it has turned into another overly expensive event! I guess the kiss of death for free events is Ebay...I remember the first year when tickets were free seeing plenty for sale on Ebay. So, can't blame the organisers for wanting a piece of the action!0 -
omg, they charge per person now?! I went two years ago when they were giving tickets out for free. It was indeed a good day out, although the two hour jam on the way back to London was a bit tiring.0

If you want to go for free, you could do stewarding. You get fed and paid (minimum wage) and although you're working you get to see stuff.
I'm doing Download festival soon, so if you're going I'll see you there. And when I come back I'll tell you more about what you do.
EDIT: that's just the apply link. There's more info here. You want to read DCSS info. CAT is if you want to go to Reading/Leeds but that isn't paid.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
