It's not _just_ the pips in red fruit that I don't like. I won't even drink red/black fruit juice or squash.
It's possibly a Snow White thing from childhood.

If I can eat beans, then there's hope for anything. But not likely just yet!

Thanks. Will have a look. Which aisle will it be in in the supermarket?

So if I increase my calorie intake I can increase my chocolate allowance? ;)

:rotfl: Only if you still hit the other guidelines, including "eat the right amount to be a healthy weight". Unfortunately the guidelines all work together, sneaky burgers those dieticians.

Xylitol is usually with the other sweeteners, which is usually with the sugar.

Do try to get some blue/ purple produce in each day: red cabbage or aubergine if you can't deal with berries. There are also purple potatoes in Asda and Sainsbury, white potatoes are not supposed to count towards 'at least five a day' but I wouldn't mind my nutrition clients having it for number six given there are so few widely available blue/ purple options. Someone on another thread said she taste tested with kids and they preferred them, but she felt that was novelty value. The company claim they taste the same as regular potatoes just extra antioxidants.

I don't think Lactulose is addictive as I had to take it for around 5/6 months while waiting for surgery - I was glad to see the back of the disgusting stuff.

That's partly why I started using it in food prep, to get it down! :p

Will try for once a week as a start. Plus sultanas a couple of times a week.

I haven't eaten a single slice of bread since 2007 just the odd bite of OH's olive sourdough from Gail's.

I have a couple of slices of this now and again:

You can get it from Ocado or IKEA.

I can only find Xylitol in Waitrose. So I order it online now.

Grape Nuts are little crumbs of cereal which don't go soggy in milk. Sugar is bad for you too.
If you don't like prunes (and the partially rehydrated ones are scrummy) what about dates? (Very sugary though). Tesco Halawi dates on the natural food section are £1 for 200g which is reasonable and work a treat.
Also Fybogel sachets are a natural product (Ispaghula husk) flavoured with lemon or orange and sweetener and absorb water in the gut to provide bulk. They can apparently be taken long term. Buy over the counter in chemist.

A surgeon managed to stitch part of the outside of the bowel to my mother's stomach so her colon isn't able to function normally. She's been on Fybogel for years without problems.

Agen prunes from France are IMNSHO yummier than most prunes. If you go to ethnic shops you should find Medjoul dates cheaper especially for Ramadan.

Fibre supplements can bind essential nutrients and flush them out of the body, only a good idea if recommended by a suitably qualified medical professional.

Please do take the advice and look at your diet, I used to eat pretty much what I wanted, not much fruit, reasonable amount of veg. Thought I was doing ok! But I now have digestive issues that affect me every day! When it first came on I spent pretty much 3mths in bed-very depressed.
I also do not like cereal- I would much rather a toasted hot x bun or croissant ect
I now have to force myself to make sure I don't have too much of one thing-cherrios aren't too bad you can get an own brand version. I like the special k red berries can get own brand too. I don't mind porridge/ready brek with jam on.
Theres no reason why you can't have the odd toast day.

Really try to eat at least some fruit every day and make sure to have different coloured veg with your lunch/dinner. I aim for 4 veggies and 1 fruit a day at least.
    Sweet potatos are great.

Take a look at your drinks too? I struggle with water as I don't like it but I make myself drink it now along with cutting down the fizzy drinks and tea.
