There is lots of nutrition in pulses, ie. beans of different varieties. They can be used in omelettes, soups, casseroles and mixed with noodles. I love them, canned or dried. Lentils soaked overnight go a long way and are considered a superfood, they help to thicken up sauce based dishes and can be cooked and mashed for tasty dips. If you have any garden space or even a window box, plant some herbs which really make an otherwise plain dish so much tastier. You don't even have to buy them, just ask friends for cuttings of their plants, and the herbs will grow for free. Fantastic. Imagine some pasta drizzled with olive oil, a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper, then tossed with fresh shredded basil leaves and some grated cheese. Delicious.0
