Doctor's Letters on JSA

Hi everyone. Not really sure where to put this thread so hopefully I'm posting in the right place.
I am currently unemployed and receiving JSA. I have recently been given a conditional job offer, which is subject to a CRB check, reference checks, and a medical check to make sure I'm fit to work with vulnerable adults. I have filled in a medical form which required me to disclose details of my medical history, and whether I have ever suffered from any of a list of certain illnesses.
As I value honesty, I disclosed that I have suffered from one of these illnesses in the past, but that it is no longer an issue for me. Understandably, the employer has requested a letter from my doctor stating that I am fully fit and capable of the job. I have been well for at least 8 months now, and I see no reason why a doctor would not see me as fit for the job, so this shouldn't be a problem.
However, my GP, like most GPs, charges £30 for a letter. I am in a bit of a pickle financially and don't think I can realistically afford to pay that amount any time soon. I have had instances where GPs have generously written me a letter free of charge, but I can't count on it.
Seeing as this doctor's letter is essential for me to get this job, does anyone know if there's any chance the job centre, or DWP would be willing to assist me here? I've heard of them reimbursing people for travel to interviews, or giving out vouchers for clothes/shoes for work so I don't see why they wouldn't, but then if it's not a common situation they might not have a policy for it.
Any advice would be great, thanks

My adviser was very nice and went out of her way to find what she could. I wouldn't be able to tell you if they can or can't, but ask your adviser to see what she can do.
They'll likely do everything they can to make sure you don't come back next week! Especially if there is already half a chance of a job.0
