I have contributed just over 48 years NI, as the minimum required for state pension qualification is 30 years, will I get an enhanced pension that reflects my extra payments or am I dreaming??

Depending on your pay level, you will probably have earned a fair amount in SERPs and S2P. Get a state pension statement.
Of course, many people also have company pensions and/or their own private pension, but your question suggests to me that you're planning to be reliant on state pension.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
