Job interview

Well I went for an interview today for a high street shop and I’m a bit miffed. The job I applied for was for a 25 hour contract, Great I thought as I would get WTC (have two kids 3&5 and live with my partner) Halfway through the interview they tell me it’s only 16 hours and may not even be at the shop most local to me.
Now I have had a look at working 16 hours and its seems that I would be worse off as JSA is £111 and 16 hours works out at £99. With Bedroom Tax/SRS and the new CTS I am already down £20 a week and really only just going to manage with my current budget. I did dome calculations and if it had been a 25 hour job then I’d have been better off than the dole by about £70 ish, well worth working
Is it right that by taking Part time work I will be worse off?
I know that there may be the possibility of overtime but it’s not guaranteed and there are other expenses like travel.
I know it’s only at interview and I haven’t been offered the job but comments were made about how well I did and sometimes you just get that feeling.
What would you do if they offered a 16 hours contract?

Bedroom Tax / Spare room subsidy / Housing Benefit Reduction - It's the same thing, get over it.

At 16 hours, surely you'd be entitled to working tax credit and child tax credit, child benefit then some council tax support? Can you work it out on http://www.entitledto.co.uk/
As it's JSA you're claiming, then I don't think you'd be able to turn it down if the job were offered...
Personally I'd take it, as it's a foot in the door, and could lead on to more hours or a promotion!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
