need advice on career selection in matte painting

in next two years, i will be graduating my fine arts, and post-which I plan to get into a matte painting agency. i am not sure, which agency to try, and above all, how to approach. for now, did some research on painters, who have created wonders with some of the biggies to name a few - Superman (all time super movie), king kong, rango, etc by painters Les Bowie, Michael Pellerin, Mathieu Raynault, please advice.

What you need is a portfolio - so start one! Talk to some independent feature producers or start off on shorts, see if you can get into doing some mattes which actually get used in film, then you have something to show the agency, and the agency can show the clients.
