An update! Haven't posted for ages.
I have been keeping up my monthly overpayment of £220 until last month, when Ive had to cancel it to pay towards my Summer holiday and this months is going towards getting the hall decorated.
After that, Im going to set it back up.
Ive managed to save a little bit in an ISA this year but missed my target by a fair bit,
I spent yesterday sorting out my budget which seemed to be going wrong! Always got money on paper but not in reality!!
Rang Virgin and they offered me a cheaper package which was good. Decided to take a new dress Id bought back in favour of wearing one Ive got, saving me £80.
Had 3 no spend days. Ive reworked my budget and added a few categories- ie 'miscellaneous' to cover birthdays and unforeseen bits and bobs, so hopefully I can stop dipping into savings. Itll add a bit of a buffer.
I am getting tempted to move house earlier than planned- keep having a crafty look at rightmove etc. Once my decorating is finished Ill get a valuation- hope its not worse than I paid, Id find that demoralising!
Cheap day planned today- gardening first, then maybe out for a walk or something.
Shopped around for sons party venue and got a much cheaper price and will cater myself, so pleased with myself for that!
Happy Easter to you all!"Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

Managing to keep my spending down over the Easter holidays, lovely weather helps a lot - plenty of parks and picnics.
I am determined to get back on track with my spending whilst still having a decent 'treat' fund for now!
Today we're going to have a little run out somewhere- its really warm outside.
Ive hung my washing out and Im trying keep the heating off as much as possible."Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

I need to update my sig at some point. My aim this year is to get below the £100,000 mark.
Yesterday got some paint 2 for 1, and used my £10 off a haircut voucher- couldnt put it off any long, beginning to look like a yeti.
Today-plan to hang washing out, and spend nothing. Should be doable.
Payday very soon- plan to try to track all spending in my phone app.
My short term goals are:
get credit card balance to zero
Get out of overdraft permanently
Restart my overpayments
Thatll do for now!"Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

Quite pleased Im getting back on top of things. Ive been watching the pennies and its reminded me of how all the little things add up. Ive sorted my budget out for the week, and am going to try to cut out unnecessary spending. So far so good. Made the effort to pop into Al** for some odd bits because I realised the local convenience store was a third dearer on the stuff I needed.
Overpaid on my cc and am determined to get the balance back to zero and get out of my overdraft permanently.
Im plodding along and although I go off the rails for a while its nothing major really, and my finances are improving month by month overall. Im just always amazed when I have a thrifty phase how much further my money stretches when I make an effort!
The realisation that May was going to be a nightmare with decorating to finish, birthdays (and birthdays meals I need to attend, sons party and presents etc), a wedding (including hotel), new trainers for son, and so on, has kick started my financial habits and Im getting back on the wagon!!"Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

I am trying a few strategies to get my spending under control!
1. Ive sorted out a few more accounts and have gone back through my budget to make it more realistic. Ive added a 'miscellaneous' account which Im going to put £30 per month into. Its a buffer really, which Ill try to leave alone when I can. Its mainly for April/May when we have loads of birthdays and it gets me every year!
2. Ive added up all the little spends I have week to week, i.e. Subs for sons footie, beavers, window cleaner etc, things that often cause me to have to draw a tenner out. Ive drawn this total out and changed it, and split it into envelopes for each thing. So today for footie, Ive put the right coins in my purse ready and thats it.
I can see this working quite well if I stick with it.
Ive got a 'treat' account, because I work hard and generally am in a good place financially. I have a small overdraft and a small credit card balance and am determined to get out of the overdraft permanently. Its a habit more than anything, Im used to using it!!
Have a good day all!"Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

Here I am again, sorry folks!
I have phases of committed 'sorting my money out' and phases of chaos.
Tomorrow my hall will finally be decorated!!
Other things to do: finish bathroom renovation, replaster kitchen
Would like to: do something with my little garden ( have nice stone patio laid?), have blind for hall window, liven up lounge, buy new back door, update kitchen, redecorate sons bedroom....oh my goodness, regretting starting this list.... But itll be done slowly as I can afford.
Got a few bits Im going to try to sell.
Have chased up a few bits of outstanding money.
Feeling all very motivated!!! How strange!!"Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

Plodding away, overpaying £200 a month. My mortgage balance should go below the £100,000 mark this year which is a lovely thought!
I am planning to move at some point- within 5 years, maybe much sooner. Got to finish some work on current house then Ill get it valued.
I hope the next house will be the 'dream house'."Never underestimate the power of small amounts"

I am back... after a long break! Although I have always been a lurker!
I have sold my former house and we are purchasing our dream house. I carried on over paying on the old house and ended up with a healthy deposit this time.
Very excited!
I am trying to get back into a frugal mindset and have resisted buying stuff for the new house... except for a very nice kenwood kmix which fits in with my dream of lots of baking, growing my own veg etc.
We will then begin to overpay the new mortgage asap.
This week I have: meal planned carefully, walked where possible, had a few no spend days."Never underestimate the power of small amounts"
