Purchased Car with Outstanding Logbook Loan. Help!
Comments

Terrible.
If you end of losing the car, id instigate legal action against the owner of the car who took out the loan.
The know they cant sell the car, but they have.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
Thank you everyone for your responces.
The HPI check I have done on the car since finding out about all this have revealed that there are two outstanding logbook loans on the car. Anyone know if this is allowed?0 -
What a mess, really feel for you. Just a thought. Did you pay for the car by any means with a credit card. If the worst happens and the car is repossessed by the loan company you could try claiming back through your card provider? I'd also inquire with however you did your HPI check with as to why it didn't show up on the report.0

Hi ChopperST.
We actually paid in cash for the car at the garage so no that wouldn't be any good. But thanks for responding.
I'm still trying to find out where who she did the HPI check with...you're right perhaps that's an avenue worth exploring.0 -
hpi checks normaly come with a warrantyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Many of the cheaper HPI checks don't seem to give much in the way of insurance against any issues that their check didn't show, for those that you do they're quite strict about setting conditions that must be met when purchasing the car. If it is the latter, the buyer will need to make sure they meet these conditions.

Your claim is against the selling dealer. Pure and simple. If they do not want to help then this would be a pretty easy case to take to court.0 -

Do you not read the posts. The opening post states quite clearly "The selling garage has gone into liquidation!""There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
