Hello lovely DFWers!!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I will:
- check online banking and pay 3 credit card bills
- update signature following fab ebay day yesterday
- do piggy clicks
- send everyone with packed lunches to school/work
- do 4 mystery shops from the mystery shop marathon mission!
- think positively
Have a good day everyone x

* ordered a John Lewis voucher from Pigsback0 -
Good morning guys, well, I'm starting to feel 'in a rut' again with regards to getting myself out of this debt mess - nothing seems to be happening quickly enough. I'm skint (again), but all the bills are paid and up to date so I shouldn't really be moaning!
I feel as if I'm not doing enough to get my debts down but really have no way at all at the moment of doing any more. I've got 4 claims ongoing with regards to bank charges and even though I've only just started the ball rolling with them, want them to make me an offer quickle
So today there is very little to do other than:
- packed lunch for all
- check online banking
- piggy comps and clicks
Hope you all have a good day x0 -

Hi GR, sorry you feel in a rut. I think if you look at most of the debt diaries this week you will see that we all feel this way! We do need to remind ourselves of just how far we have come. Go onto LookingAhead's diary and go back a few threads and you will see that she did a list of what she had achieved since LBM. The result was amazing! Inspired by this I did a thread on a similar line - did you put an entry on it? If not, write down your own list, see how far you have come and be proud.
Anyway, you're not stuck, just having a little rest before the next big push xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Today I have-
Started a spending diary, backdated to yesterday
Checked the bank as usual
I will
Cycle to playgroup to save on petrol
Only take the £1.10 needed for playgroup so I can resist the call of Greggs on the way home
Have a look to see what else I can flog on Ebay
Read the paper at the community centre whilst at playgroup instead of buying my own copy:rolleyes:

Hi hypno, hi all.
Today....
- if the mortgage offer arrives, I'll be getting the bus into town to deliver it by hand, as they need 7 working days till the end of May, which I didn't realise before, and thats a bit tight to post it.
- done piggy clicks
- will do others.
- WILL SIGN OFF (sorry to shout) and just stay with the financial experiment for the next hour.
- later on, sort my bank statements - I have *two* waiting - I always check I have enough money in the account, but thats all... aargh. More dfw ways needed there, I think.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Evening peeps. G_R (if you read this) I can relate to how you feel. Please don't give up. I know at the moment you feel like you are wading through treacle.
Something will happen sooner or later to spark off your enthusiasm or give you a little boost I'm sure of it. We both know as well don't we....that we just have to get on with it otherwise a few more months down the line we'll have seen thing unravel and that's a real gut wrenching feeling.
Keep plodding on and coming on here for support....things *will* turn a corner eventually I promise.
My DFW things today were:
* Got lifts to & from work
* Took HM lunch to work
* Had some food bought for me at work as I stayed late....didn't need to cook dinner when I got home then. Small consolation I guess!
* QuidCo & Piggy comp stuff
* Checked with water company that they are sticking to the monthly plan as of 1.6.07, that was verbally agreed around a month ago.
* Ordered a couple of wedding presents via QuidCo and got nice / different things for not a lot of money too
* Checked online banking
* Am updating spreadsheet with anticipated spends for rest of month & JuneBank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010

My Dfw things were today
Made packed lunches for the kids oh off sick he has man flu (saved us £12 in fuel costs though):D
Made pancakes with the leftover yorkshire pudding mixture would normally have thrown this awayYou can touch the dust but please don't write in it !
Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?0 -
Been to work - came home - nodded off on the sofa - therefore had a no spend day!
Volunteered myself for 3 hours overtime per week for the rest of this month. Not much but it all helps.
Checked online banking and realised I'm now winging it to payday but rent and bills are covered and I haved budgeted :A for my car tax disc due at the end of May so I'm pretty pleased with myself for that.0
