Ipad mini or Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD

Hi,
I have got a bit of money saved to buy a tablet and now I don't know which to buy.
Should I go all out and buy the ipad mini or is the nexus 7 just as good?
I also like the look of kindle fire HD but then if I went for this should it be the 7" or the 8.5" (or whatever the size of the new bigger one is!)
Also is there ever any deals buying tablets, any offers??
I want to be able to go on net, skype, play some games, do some reading. I am not that fussed that whatever one I go for I have to really buy from that place i.e amazon, itunes or google play.
I just want the best for my money so anyone who has one of these tablets, it would be great to hear from you.

What is it you want to know ?
You do your reading, play games, surf the net and I believe you can do Skype, there is an app but I've not a chance to try it yet. Either car phone warehouse or might have been ebuyer had the nexus on special, maybe look on hukd for any other lower prices.
You say bit of money but how much is a bit ?
I presume when you say the mini you go as high as the price for a mini ?0 -
I've had a nexus for over 6 months now and it's a great bit of kit. The apps run well, it's good to read on, very responsive, okay for watching movies etc whilst travelling and both google play and the kindle store always have enough to keep me entertained.
My OH has a standard ipad (not the mini) provided to him via work and he says that for useability etc he actually prefers my nexus and I don't think it's just a size thing!
Can't recommend it highly enough - It's a fanatastic bit of kit imo.Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
For 2 years I have lusted after an ipad but couldnt justify the expense. A colleague (VERY geeky) showed me his nexus 7 and said it was just as good if not better. So I bought one with my Christmas money and I absolutely love it. I really thought i was going to be disappointed as i wanted an ipad so badly (have an iphone which i love) and have never used an android before.
Ths size is perfect, the weight of it and the shape of it. its very quick, loads of apps.
In fact when i replace my iphone 4 I am going to get the nexus 4!You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
Great replies especially saying the nexus 7 is a great tablet.
I have enough money to buy a ipad mini but what I wanted to know was should I spend that when I can get another tablet that is equally as good or better for less money? If there is no need to spend all my money then I won't.
I am swaying towards the nexus 7 as everyone that has one seems to love it. I initally liked the look of the kindle fire but then when I can get the kindle app on nexus if I want to then it gives me more options.
I am presuming the nexus 7 is the same price everywhere? I haven't seen any variation on prices so far.0 -

Have a look on the shopping board, i'm sure i saw a nexus 7 deal on there in tesco for £125 which is very cheap - i think £175-199 is the general price for themYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
As I said earlier look on hukd, its £190 here from ebuyer,
£199/ 184 (after quidco from currys),
£189 from CPW
these are for the 32GB.
Yes generally the pice is around the £1900 -
Thanks everyone I am now searching for a Nexus 7 32gb. Hope to buy soon :j0

I have an ipad and an android phone, what you get with apple is quantity of apps, but it is far less usable than android.
Swiftkey just makes apple look like an abacus when it comes to the keyboard, i shall not do apple again unless they significantly improve.
Nexus 7 id say

I bought an 8.9" Kindle Fire HD as soon as they came out. I find the 7" tablets too small and the 10" too big so there weren't a lot of options!
So far I love it...great screen resolution and very easy to use. I'm not particularly tech-savvy so have only used it to stream videos from LoveFilm, surf the internet and read pdfs.
Price-wise the Nexus 7 is a much better bet, but if you're after a larger screen don't write off the Kindle Fire.0
