The amount of !!!!!!!! posts and wrong information I read on some of the forums is getting ridiculous, often I want to reply and say how wrong some advice is but really what's the point. Just wish some posters got their facts right before posting misleading and scare mongering posts.

Just saying...... :)

Hi guys I'm not going to name as I guess they are only trying to help but just winds me up when I read some posts and think if it was my dad whose 72 years young he might think he's going to jail for not paying his debts as an example or committing fraud by defaulting on a loan, I'm sure to those who are a little wiser will understand why it can get to you sometimes. Anyway sorry for the moan, should just let it go over my head :)

If you default on the loan and the creditor take you to court due to continued non payment then technically charges of criminal fraud can be brought against you if they call for evidence from your bank in the form of bank statements that show you used the loan for purposes other than debt consolidation.

It is technically correct, although you do have a point in so much as it is so unlikely to happen that it might as well be incorrect.

I could have made that clearer in my post though :o
