can I convert a Private prescription into an NHS prescription?

Hi fellow forumers,
Can you help me?
I went to my NHS GP a while ago about a pain, and as I also have private healthcare through work, she referred me to a my Private back surgeon.
This surgeon after some CT/MRI scans then referred me to a private Rheumatologist.
The Rheumatologist has just given me a prescription for some drugs (arcoxia 90mgx10), which when i went to the pharmacist said would cost me £30 :-(
Now, is there any way I can get a private prescription, converted to an NHS one so it will only cost me £8?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Go and see your GP Dr and ask him to prescribe them?
I take it they are available on the NHS?
If going to see the Dr involves time off work etc, might it not be better to pay the £22 difference this time, and ask your GP if he can do repeat prescriptions next time you see him/her?How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Thanks for the advice.
So, i called the GP and have been told they "may" do it for me.
I've to drop my prescription in tomorrow and they will look at it.
You'd think though that as I've been using private healthcare I've saved them a fortune so getting drugs via NHS wouldn't be a problem. Fingers crossed--- Hitting the thanks button as often as is needed ---0 -

I'm sure they will make a clinical decision based on whether in their view the prescription will be helpful to you, they aren't just going to write a prescription to save you money."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

They are not supposed to permit queue jumping through private healthcare, and often won't work with private consultants who don't follow the same 'rules' as NHS doctors. Not all licensed drugs are available on the NHS at all, or they might not be first line treatment in the area, other cheaper drugs must be tried first. You may be able to find out via Google what NSAIDs are on formulary locally, etoricoxib is quite pricey compared to some.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
