I thought i was the only one who had heard of these. my husband dosen't know what I'm talking about when I reminiss about everyone in school wore these in the late 70's early 80's.(yorkshire. my husband is from london). I wanted a pair cos all my freinds wore them but my mum wouldn't let me have any because they were ugly. (like the clarks shoes i had to wear wern't). I have no idea where to get a pair but just got excited because someone else knows what these are. (at least I hope your talking about shoes!)HOW MUCH ?0

Yes am talking about the shoes! lol
Have looked everywhere on the net and they seem to have disappeared back into the 80s, maybe thats the best place for them!!!0 -
Hi,
I had several pairs of polyvelts as a teenager and I loved em. I too have been searching the web for a pair but I don't think there are any in existance. I emailed Clarks and asked if they would be any chance of a relaunch. I think they could come back into fashion, things always seem to do that.

I understand they're back in, or will be coming back in.
Clarks has a range called 'Iconic' in many stores at the moment, and in boxes, there is a page advertising these. They may be named differently and they are quite hard to come by in stores (think it's mostly the larger, higher taking stores that have the men's range).
They're made using a process called "reverse prototyping" so SHOULD be the same sort of quality and comfort.
Hope that's of some help. Don't quote me, I'm just going on what I've read!0 -
i work at a well known out of town shoe shop (think slingback synapse) and we stock them. I have a pair for work, still as comfortable as back in the 80's. They retail at £40. You can go on the website and order a pair to be delivered to your nearest store. Good luck in getting your pair.
The name they are under in the range is FUNKY DREAM or FUNNY DREAM (can't remember right one)£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
these are now being sold at clarks they are called funny dream and retail for about £45, absolutely loved the old ones had black red and mustard colour, i used to be called cornish pasty feet:rotfl:0
