Do i go for a Homeowner or tenant unsecured loan

Hi there

I am considering applying for a loan to consolidate some debts through my building society. I have good credit and am a homeowner (joint mortgage with wife), however I am separated from my wife and live in rented accommodation so, do I tick the homeowner box or tenant box when applying? I am going for an unsecured loan so the house wont be a factor, but I want to make sure I stand the best chance of getting the loan and suspect saying I'm a homeowner who has always kept up with repayments would be better. however, my application address will not match the homeowner address so a little worried of ticking the wrong box.

Thanks

Stating that you're a homeowner does make a marginal difference to your credit score however not really a great deal to be honest.

    I'd just put private tenant.

Answer factually, if your name is on the deeds to a house, put homeowner.
As you mention, an unsecured loan has no bearing but they will be pondering the options of a charging order option should you fail to repay.
Just be honest a factual, take no account of your future intentions, the same way they won't take into account a future pay rise when assessing.
