Changing bank accounts

Hi all,
I really want to change my bank account (had enough of Santander they were good as Alliance and Leicester) but I will be getting a mortgage of my own in the next few months (after coming off a joint one with my ex) so I wanted to know how much of an affect changing bank accounts will have on my application? Will it matter will I need to have had an account for a certain period first?
Cheers.

Zero. I actually changed bank accounts in between having my mortgage application agreed and completion.0

The bank will credit score you - which will show as a search on your file.
Its wont have a massive effect. Ive had clients change banks during an application and it went through without any problems.
From a personal view though, i would prefer to keep everything in place until the mortgage has gone through - it shouldnt cause a problem but why give them the reason to ask more questions.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
