Taking money out of bank account

Hi
My friend was made BR last Friday.
Now apart from what we have read and heard on this forum she has not been told to take money from her basic account.
Her Benefits are due tomorrow being paid in to her basic account, the bank said they would let her keep it.
This money is her only income as i said benefits not anything else.
Would she be breaking the law by withdrawing some of her money tomorrow. She did tell the OR office when she had a phone interview straight away after being BR about this account and explained it was for her benefits to be paid in to.
This interview was only a brief call from the OR office explaining what happens next and to arrange a time and day of proper OR interview. He only said to go to the bank and tell them about the BR, Nothing else.
Any thoughts please.
Thanks

She must ring the OR and ask permission. It will probably be OK but keeping the OR informed is essentialBR 18 Oct 2006 Discharged 16 April 2007 :T0

Seconded. Phone the OR - she'll be given an instant decision on the phone. I can't see them denying her.0

Thanks for the replies.
Its a bit confusing because the last thing that was said on the phone from the OR office was go to the bank, Tell them about the BR. If they have a problem tell them to ring me straight away.

I thought a basic account was ok...0

It's not about what type of account it is Alan, all assets so including any money in any bank account is now the property of the OR and unless you have permission from the OR to touch the money, you shouldn't.
However, saying this, my OR said nothing except they'd inform the bank of the BR and leave the decision up to them as to whether to close it or not and yet we used our account as before and have had no problem. We never asked and I see no problem with that. The OR saw the bank account, asked if it was our main one and said they'd recommend it be kept open....:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
Just an update on the question that was asked about taking money out of account.
Phoned OR. No interest in the account.
Bank account still open, For the time being anyway.
All running smoothly so far, she received forms from OR today. Hardly anything to fill in so i suppose it will all be done over the phone with the OR"s interview.
