B & Q Price Promise

Hi,

B & Q have a Price Promise where they will match the price of a competitor AND also take off an additional 10%

for example a £900 american fridge freezer at B&Q and is £899.99 at a competitor will be matched and an additional £89.99 taken off making it £810.00.

Some of the exclusions are: competitor must be within 10 miles of store, no internet matching, no match with membership retailers (for example Makro) also item must be in stock for anyone to buy.

All you need do is go to customer service desk with the name and telephone number of competitor and they will normally call them and do the Price Promise immediately.

Be aware that some "identical " products can have slightly different model numbers.

Hope this can be of help, even for some paint or garden sheds.

When ever I saw the big 10% on the B&Q store I assumed it was 10% of the difference in prices (ie. about £10 in the case you have mentioned) like some stores do but interesting to find out it is 10% off the lower price.

Check this out before you start chucking big money around.

:mad: They do not honour this guarantee, i wanted some tiles which were marked down in another of their stores, which was within a 10 mile radius and they would not match the price even though i had called their customer services who said they have to. The manageress was very unhelpful. and i am still in the process of trying to get the manageress to houour their guarantee, she seems to think this is some personnnal attack on her from the way shes dealing with it.

as long as the item is the same (has to be the same make, size) and you have seen it for sale in a shop open to everyone (i dont think makro will be accecpted as you need a card to get in) mailorder not allowed, it should be ok. but your are right annitahamnett, it can depend on whos manager of that shift, and what mood there in at the time!!

a lot of the time a price promise also states that the goods can not be on special offer which is their main get out clause.

No one should assume, use common sense, opinion etc with a price promise. It should be taken literally without sentiment, emotion, or interpretation as in a court of law.

I have been trying to find B&Q's price match policy in regards to this 10% but cannot find it on their website.

Anyway,

Does anyone know if they price match their own DIY.com website?

I am going to do a reserve and collect on an item and on the website it says £70 reduced from £100.
When I go threw the motions to reserve and collect at my local B&Q the price remains @ £70.

Now I've checked instore myself and the price they have instore is still £100!

Do you think they will apply their price match policy on this?

I've printed the details of the item £70 etc so that I can show them but just wondered if anybody has had any experiance of this?

I have just used the B&Q price match. I wanted to buy a Hetty vacuum cleaner and in B&Q it was £97.99 but in Homebase it's £84.99 so I took up a print out of the price to B&Q and not only did they match the price they gave me and extra 10% off no quibbles at all.
So I got Hetty for £76 not a bad saving. The only condition is that the other store must be within 10 miles of the B&Q store. Well pleased!:T

What a load of rubbish, went to my local store with a receipt of some paving slabs and block paver's, i had bought from jewsons, but i needed more, as for been like for like you could not get more alike as they came from the same suppliers, This is were it gets good, the price from jewsons was £245.78 with delivery, B&Q said they would knock a 1p off each slab wow that worked out 29p. and do the block for the same price as jewson, BUT THERE WAS NO 10% OFF AND THERE WAS £45 DELIVERY ON TOP!!!! so i would of been paying £44.71 MORE! WERE IS THE SAVING........ :mad:
