I was unable to get online access to experian as they wanted £14.99 (used previously prior to bankruptcy in 2009). Anyways, I used Noddle and Equifax and most defaults showing on Equifax up until 2008 or 2009 but on noddle they show right up until this month. Should I still write to the creditors to ask them to change dates and request satisfactory /settled marker on my account? If equifax is correct then my defaults should come off my crf next year any way - but if noddle is correct then the default is showing as new constantly
Please help

Hello, i've noticed that with mine too - it also shows different info on noddle 2 accounts are default but on equifax it's only one and that's a different account entirely!
It confuses the hell out of me, I've decided to write to any companies that are still showing as defaulted/not settled just incase just to make sure everythings right either way.0 -
why don't you both get your credit file from the CRAs themselves instead of going through a third party that way you will know exactly what each agency are showing on your file.

Hi all, I logged into my experian today to see how much clean up I have to do. They have shown I am discharged from bankrupcy but most of the companies have updated after the bankrupcy discharge and showing still in default. Do I now have to write to each company and show them a copy of the discharge letter? I am so busy the thought of doing umpteen letters stresses me, but I guess it has to be done some how. I was wondering if there is a company that would do this for me, one that is reputable or trustworthy? I have exams to study for and updates to do regarding my profession and I just can't divide my time between this, work and study/exams right now. If there is no company then I wonder how long I have to sort this out? Roses x

Includes template letters ,addresses and processes. Use a website like ViaPost to send them, makes life much easier.
But you don't have to do it right away, maybe wait 6 months?
There are companies that would do it for you, for a fee. Not sure which ones are reputable though.0 -
Hi
I have just gone through the process of updating my credit file. I wrote letters to all my creditors, using the template on MSE. Then 2 months later I wrote another set, sometines posting to 2 different adresse for the same company as it's hard to track down the right address. Then last month I rasied complaints with the companies that had not updated my credit history. These complaints were the most effective as they have internal deadlines to get complaints resolved.
It really is worth doing, as you never know when you need to a search. I am having to move unexpectedly next month and need a cleaned-up file for this.0
