Evans discount day

Can you give me some advice / encouragement please?
I needed new summer wardrobe and spent nearly £100 at Evans at the weekend (am quite pleased with this esp as I saved £10 with offers).
I then discovered that this Thursday and Friday they have a 20% off day.
The clothes I bought are still with tags on in the bag, so I have a 2-fold dilemma....
The moral dilemma - What if I took them back for a refund (Evans are usually very good at this - I often buy loads, try them on at my leisure at home, then return most of them for refund ) for the price on the reciept, but then immediately re-bought them at the offer price??
The legal dilemma - is there a problem doing this?
I want to do this - its £20 to my benefit, but am feeling a bit awkward.
Thanks
Sharon

If I were you, I would go shopping on THursday/Friday, buy everything you like for the 20% off, than take back what you dont want from the original shop.
Most shops dont let you take something back then re-buy it at a reduced price. I used to work in M&S and shops are wise to this sort of thing.
But there is nothing wrong at all in taking unworn clothes back if you are able to buy identical ones for a discount a few days later.
Good luck (and thanks for the heads-up on the discount day!)“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -
Do you have an Evans storecard? I know that if you buy something on your card and it's then reduced in a sale within a certain time period, they will give you the difference back.0

could you take them back then re buy from a different branch0

taken them back tommorow and then go shopping on friday night
hopefully a different sales assistant will be on the till... 0 -
Sharonpeak, what you could do is what has already been suggested in that you buy the items again and then take the ones you already have for a refund. As you say, it is £20 that could be in your pocket.
I don't think they would let you buy the ones that you brought back but you select some more that were the same off the rails.
I would buy the items again 1st before taking the ones you have back just in case they don't have any in your particular size or something.
Typical isn't it? The first time I go shopping for clothes this year at Evans and I could have got another 20% off if I had waited a week!0 -

where did you hear about the 20% off on thursday & friday? Is it in all stores?0 -
Would you get the £10 off that you originally saved? If not you would only save £10. You have to consider your travelling costs, petrol, car parking fees, your time etc just to save £10. I know that £10 is a lot of money but don't forget the hidden expenses in getting there.
How long do you have to return the items? They quite often have these deals on-line too and sometimes with free postage. You could get them from there and return the items when you are next in store.0 -
I will probably get shot down in flames but I would take them back and then buy what I wanted again.
I got discount vouchers in Tescos the day after I had bought a pile of clothes. I had joined on line and got vouchers through the post day after i had shopped. So I took the clothes and vouchers to Tesco all they did was apply the discount and credit my card they didn't need to scan everything .
Why if you haven't worn something and they have a discount day wouldn't you save yourself £20. As long as it doesn't or won't cost you to take the stuff back.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
I think if you have an Evans storecard, for every £40 you spend, you get a £5 credit voucher. If you don't have one, you might find that if you open an account on Thursday, that you get an extra 10% discount for that day

I would also buy a duplicate set before taking anything back in case an item you really like is now out of stock.0 -
Im sure that Evans policy is that as long as you return items items within 30 days/1 month and you have the receipt, they will refund you.
Could you not take a family member or friend with you when you go shopping and get them to return the clothes for you.
:rolleyes:A PLAN::rolleyes: You stroll casually into the shop a minute or 2 after your friend/family member has gone in to return the clothes.
Then while you are going round the store picking up the same clothes that your friend is returning, :cool:keep an eye on the returned clothes and see if sales assistant puts them behind till or back onto shop floor.
Then if there are 1 or 2 items that are not in your size on the shop floor - when you walk up to the till you could mutter to yourself very loudly "ohh that is a gorgous colour/top/fabric ! Wonder where that is" while spinning round to gaze round the store.
Or you could do the above in 1st paragraph, and then take the item in different size (if they dont have yours) and ask at the till "if they have item in your size" - Then like magic they will be one behind the till.
Mean while your friend is waiting outside or in shop close by, waiting for you to buy her a :coffee: !!!
Or you could just do it the easy way - I am just in an:rolleyes2 "over dramatic mood" but I dont know why:rolleyes2 - Sorry.
P.S. Thanks for the tip about the 20%~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0
